Despite the school's success in athletics, the University of San Diego struggles with student attendance and engagement at sporting events.
To encourage students to come out and support the school's basketball team for the biggest game of the year, USD vs Gonzaga, we developed an innovative tailgate and pregame event to hype up school spirit. At the time, USD did not allow the sale of alcohol on campus, so we created the Kombucha Kickback to give students the experience of a tailgate, including traditional college drinking games, using Kombucha instead of alcohol, live music, and even a Coachella Ticket Giveaway. This event was the highest attended pregame event in USD history.
